We have been blending green drinks for years. They are a vital part of our diet and when we go too long without making a green drink, we really start to feel it.
Of the many healing benefits they have, we really enjoy the increased energy and elimination of waste which can occur. Plus, our recipes are delicious!
There are many green drink recipes online and in social media and that's great as the word regarding green drinks has spread. But, don't believe everything you read online - it's a mad house and you don't know why who is writing what and if they know what they are talking about.
What we know is that green drinks need to be healing. The goal is to blend a healing green drink. It needs to be edible and tasty too.

This means stay away from too many fruits! Hard to believe but true if you want the benefits to outweigh the cons. A handful of fruit is all you should use.
It can also be brownish. Most of the drink should be made of leafy greens. Green is the balancing color and it helps us to balance the extremes in life. Balance brings healing and green drinks are perfect for this on a spiritual level. Green is the color of healing and it can remove poor energy within the body by blending negative energy into positive energy. Enjoying a green drink is one of the best things we can consume to achieve this.
Chew your drink (yes even though it's blended). This will help you extract the positive energy from the food increasing the benefits tenfold. The consciousness of green drink consumption needs to be one of mindfulness.

I put the water in first and then add the softest ingredients first that way the Vitamix can blend without the tamper. I also slice the cucumber, apple, celery, and fennel.
This above baseline can be mixed and matched. It's just important to use low-starch veggies as the majority of the recipe. Drinking this daily can help with weight, high cholesterol, energy levels, sleep, detoxification and increasing your vibration. I have also found the drink to be fulfilling as a meal too. Try to drink it in the morning or as something to have in the middle of the day. Don't be lazy about it, the amazing benefits are worth it! Plus, once you get the basics down, you can feel free to make it your own and create a flavor you really enjoy.
This should be introduced slowly to avoid burning out on it. Detoxification can be intense so ease into this drink with 1/2 a cup for the first week until you can drink an entire glass a day.
